My Bears obviously had a terrible season. That said, I'm not the biggest Packer fan by any means. BUT, I have to admit the playoffs have much more interest when they run through GB with single digit temps and snow showers.

Try to beat this for Packer playoff viewing: I'll be ice fishing just outside of Three Lakes all weekend, only stopping to go to the Pine Isle Bar(no more than an oversized trailer, really) for the game, some sort of special "Pine Isle" Leinenkugels and fried food.

Just started a half-hour ago. But it's coming down hard. I may have to cancel a trip to Augusta tomorrow. Just hope I don't have to do the same with the trip to DC on Wednesday.

Sorry. It's been a busy week. I was going to do a long piece on how the Giants represent a state that's been giving America all the tough dudes, from Teddy Roosevelt to Hillary Clinton, and how that toughness was going to win the day for them. But being up against the clock, I'll just get to the point...

The New York Giants are in the NFC Championship by virtue of them accomplishing three things the Packers couldn't accomplish:

1) Defeating the Chicago Bears
2) Defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3) Defeating the Dallas Cowboys

They possess one of the best ball-control offenses in football, they have a coach whose name sounds like he's one of those ass-kicking Catholic priests and a defensive coordinator whose name sounds like he should be a mafia hit-man. For these and many other reasons, I predict gloom and doom for the Pack. Giants 34, GB 20.

Just because it is irrelevant doesn't mean I forgot it. It just doesn't matter. The Giants are a lock.

Thank you. I was beginning to think I was going to have to make a trip to the store for a bottle of Metamucil, but I feel fine now.
