And not just because of the present scandal. How the USSC could rule that professional baseball (and not football, basketball, et al.) is just the "national pastime", and not a business, is beyond me.

Greenies, eh? I believe they are a banned substance as well and they test for them. The MLB and the MLBPA rarely agree, but on this they might have to work something out.

Here's a list thats been going around, can't vouch for the veracity:
Jose Guillen, Jay Gibbons, Juan Gonzalez, Clay Hensley, Jerry Hairston, Felix Heredia, Jr., Darren Holmes, Wally Joyner, Darryl Kile, Matt Lawton, Raul Mondesi, Mark McGwire, Guillermo Mota, Robert Machado, Damian Moss, Abraham Nunez, Trot Nixon, Jose Offerman, Andy Pettitte, Mark Prior, Neifi Perez, Rafael Palmiero, Albert Pujols, Brian Roberts, Juan Rincon, John Rocker, Pudge Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa, Scott Schoenweiis, David Segui, Alex Sanchez, Gary Sheffield, Miguel Tejada, Julian Tavarez,Fernando Tatis, Maurice Vaughn, IJason Varitek, Ismael Valdez, Matt Williams and Kerry Wood, Brady Anderson, Manny Alexander, Rick Ankiel, Jeff Bagwell, Barry Bonds, Aaron Boone, Rafaeil Bettancourt, Bret Boone, Milton Bradley, David Bell, Dante Bichette, Albert Belle, Paul Byrd, Wil Cordero, Ken Caminiti, Mike Cameron, Ramon Castro, Jose and Ozzie Canseco, Roger Clemens, Paxton Crawford, Wilson Delgado, Lenny Dykstra, Johnny Damon, Carl Everett, Kyle Farnsoworth, Ryan Franklin, Troy Glaus, Rich Garces, Jason Grimsley, Troy Glaus, Juan Gonzalez, Eric Gagne, Nomar Garciaparra, Jeremy Giambi

Apparently the real list will contain more pitchers than position players (not surprised).

Troy Glaus and Juan Gonzales: it felt so nice, we used it twice!

I know, leads me to believe the list is somewhat bogus...sources say its not "entirely accurate."

My pet solution is, a la Futurama, to announce a plan to mandate steroid/HGH treatments for all MLB players. The twisting on the part of the players and MLBPA to reframe their positions would be hilarious.

I've long argued that Barry Bonds and other "Heavily suspected users" were just the tip of the iceberg...Just look at the average NFL offensive lineman: a Poster boy for HGH: the huge head and exagerated features...but really, who knows for sure.

Sure its more Non-news, sensationalistic bullshit distraction from the supposedly declining Violence in Iraq, Waterboarding, The sub-prime mortage scandal, and lest we forget-Global warming, anyone?

Maybe Barry will end up doing time with Michael Vick. It would make a good Poll question: Bonds or Vick? Who do you hate more?

I don't hate either man. But I do think that, of the two, Vick's crimes are almost infinitely more hideous.

Anyone ever seen Amores Perros? That's some sick-ass shit.

John Rocker's impeccable reputation took a bit of a hit with his inclusion in the Mitchell Report.

Looks like the Brewers signed Gagne just in time. I wonder when he did his misdeeds and what, if any penalty was on the books then.
