Bud Selig. That fucker has more power than anybody should have in baseball.

If there's any justice left of this planet, Selig will resign 30 seconds after the release of the report - preferably accompanied by an act of seppuku.

Apparently, at least one MVP and a Cy Young winner will be implicated. I'm not answering the phone today if my name is Tejada or Clemens.

Here's a serious question for the baseball fans out there: Does anyone really care about this? Is anyone outraged?

I think it's all a big witch hunt, personally, fed by the media's love of pumping up scandals. I find the fact that the government keeps threatening intervention particularly shameful. They should maybe clean themselves up first.

Took down the football window display at work today, and replaced it with the following books:

My Prison Without Bars: The Autobiography of Pete Rose
Chicken Soup for the Baseball Fan's Soul
Baseball's Biggest Bloopers
9 Innings: The Anatomy of a Baseball Game
Game of Shadows
Narcotics Anonymous
Addiction and Recovery for Dummies

We all know Clemens is a roids user, no surprise there. I do think this had to happen in order for baseball to "clean itself up." However, I am not upset about it and I don't really care. MLB encouraged this culture of performance enhancement, and Selig and the players association are due some of the blame along with the players. If anything, this report will take the spotlight off of one player, and place it on the entire industry where it belongs. All you Barry haters can rest easy now...

Similar to the spygate issue. Every dullard in the USA crying about the Patriots being cheaters, when its widely known across the NFL that most coaches illegally videotape signals in order to gain an edge. Belichick got caught and took one for the coaching fraternity, fine. But to assume that he was the only one that has done it is asinine.

In the end is it all really matter? Good point mini, Congress is pointing the finger at people for doing something illegal? They definitely don't have the credibility to do that and Bud Selig is just laughable. This has been a long time coming but in reality, fans will still go to the park, the players will make their millions and the quality of the game will remain comprimised. I honestly don't see this changing anything.

I do think with better testing, the game will be less "tainted," but thats up to MLB and the MLBPA.

Therein lies the problem. Baseball doesn't want to change and I don't see anything that will make them change. Also, when can MLB and MLBPA ever agree on anything?

And they're just looking at steroids and HGH. Amphetamines use has been rampant in baseball for decades, but that problem will continue to be ignored.

One of the big problems with HGH is that it can't be detected by a urine test. I highly doubt the players union would agree to blood testing. If Congress was actually serious about doing something other than grandstanding, they should threaten to revoke MLB's antitrust exemption.
