Looks like Piniella had a Ned Yost moment....way to take out Zambrano when its tied and save him for another day.

That makes sense here as Z will have to pitch Game 4 on three days' rest - especially since Marmol is almost always lights-out.

How about that Beckett? I think we know who's going to win that series, look at how banged up the Angels starters are, and Escobar? I hope you make the fifth game at Fenway, but I don't think thats going to happen!

Quite possibly the most dominant start in the history of postseason baseball(apologies to Don Larsen). In 104 years of playoffs, he's the only pitcher to ever throw a shutout while allowing zero walks, zero extra base-hits, and striking out at least 8. In 6 postseason starts, he has 3 shutouts(only 4 for his career in the regular season). With Beckett, Schilling, and Ortiz, the Red Sox have arguably 3 of the 5 most dominant postseason players of the last 25 years(along with Smoltz and Rivera). Hello World Series.

If they get past the Angels, the Red Sox will have to win the WS in the ALCS, just like in 2004...

I'm happy for you, Sock fan, but I've personally seen enough Josh Beckett pitching in the postseason for one lifetime, thank you very much.

Well, you don't have to see any more Josh Beckett this season- at least, if you don't want to. I'm guessing he'll be pitching Game 1 against the Tribe, sometime next week.

Heh. Yeah. So I'm not exactly a National League savant. Just an idiot.

Not too bad in the first round. Let's hope it holds up the rest of the way.

ALDS Game 5 tix have turned into ALCS Game 1 tix. Sabathia v. Beckett. Not too shabby.

Once again, you've shamed us all. Only the homer call picking the Cubs over the D-backs spoiled your perfect ticket.

Heh, that definitely was a homer call, but I actually thought the Cubs could win. Or at least just win one freaking GAME.

As a new member of the Rockies bandwagon, I just hope my WS pick is wrong...
