the humane society of the united states and the government of ontario have both put out brochures about driving a pipe through a beaver dam at a 20° angle to lower the water level.

Trust me, those buggers will figure out a way to stuff that pipe. No, we just kill the little fuckers. That'll fix 'em for flooding our road.

that is why they recommend enclosing both ends of the pipe with mesh in the range of 1 to 4 cm i think it was.

After all, a gun was involved...so something MUST be done about it, no?

Too many hunters, or guns, wasn't the problem. If these two people were the only hunters in the world, it would have happened, because one of them wasn't properly trained in proper hunting. Or was an idiot who got excited and ignored his training.

You need to protect your culverts with a Beaver Deceiver.

Way too much trouble. All you gotta do is bust a hole in the dam, and then stand behind a tree with a rifle and wait for them to come out to fix the hole. Works like a charm.

You use dynamite on the dams in the winter. The pond drains and they can't get any food because of the ice cover and starve to death.

Given that this thread is about beavers, you otter find a better picture.

Actually it's a real thing. It was invented by a guy named "Skip". Saw it on Discovery channel many years ago in an altered state. The show about beavers was understandably giggle inducing to begin with but then there's Skip. Website appears to be under construction but a quick Google (It's safer than you'd think) has it listed in Wikipedia with Flow Devices and several news items of local communities successfully deploying the Beaver Deceiver.

Don't you know anything about beavers? They eat young branches that they stash underwater for winter. They can't get to the branches if you drain the pond.

i presume u mean drain the pond and blow up the lodge, because otherwise couldn't they just scamper up the side? and eat holes in the ice like a seal?

They chew a hole in the ice so they can hitch hike down to the 7-11.
