If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays are "too" Political

Postby Endo Rockstar » Fri May 25, 2012 8:27 am

Stoughton tries to kick out a group from participating in Syttende Mai parade because their message is "too political."

That disagreement came to a head about 10 minutes before the parade was set to kick off on Saturday, Gerber said.

The group arrived with its banner, and Polizzi said the group would have to cover up the words again. Another member of the PFLAG group argued on the telephone with Gerber about the wording.

What the hell, Stoughton? Really? Explain to me how community members supporting their friends and family and promoting tolerance is too political?

Is this the same parade at which Norman C. Granvold complained about the presence of a legally armed citizen? It may be that Stoughton has larger tolerance and vision issues than advocacy of alternative lifestyles. The US Constitution and Bill of Rights do say that the Right to Keep and Bear Arms shall not be infringed. I don't recall the Founding Fathers writing on PFAG.

PFAG, get it? Classy.

Priorities.

Welcome to Stoughton, a home for republican talking points: "Guns, Gays, and God......and also Lutefisk."

Stoughton is an easy target but the Koffee Kup is still my favorite diner in the area.

I'm sure there were those who said blacks were too 'political' during the civil rights movement.

Thanks for posting that. It reminded me of the race for abortion/recall thought I've had.
