If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

NEWARK — Newark Mayor Cory Booker was taken to a hospital Thursday night for treatment of smoke inhalation he suffered trying to rescue his next-door neighbors from their burning house.

"I just grabbed her and whipped her out of the bed," Booker said in recounting the fire. Booker told The Star-Ledger he also suffered second-degree burns on his hand.

He's sparred with Chris Christie in the past. They're on opposite sides of the political spectrum yet put that fact aside to find their common ground. Why does NJ get all the politicians with...ahem...guts to speak the truth and to drop the party-line?

Sounds like a good question to pose to Jon Stewart.

Yes, Booker is badass and whatever his shortcomings he can't be accused of lacking enthusiasm.

Christie does not have a recognizable relationship with the truth. Telling people off is not really the same thing as brutal honesty.

I trust folks can find the original article and Krugman's column in the same paper.
