The car shopping can only get better and traffic on Willy will flow better. I don't think there will be any measurable effect on Jenifer St. because the residents will be using their cars more.
When the weather's nice and they only need a couple of items, yes they'll walk. But based on my own years in my own little near east neighborhood, only the diehards will walk when the weather isn't perfect, they've got a few pounds to carry, and they have to cross East Wash.
Most of those folks will do that one or two times and then start using the car. What was six blocks walk for some people will now be 12. They won't even think about walking.
