Clarence Thomas has nothing to say (or ask, at least)

If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Clarence Thomas has nothing to say (or ask, at least)

I thought this was an interesting story.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/13/us/13thomas.html

He's gone 5 years without asking one question during court arguments. The other justices average about a dozen questions PER CASE. Parts of the article make him sound bored and unhappy with the job. I'm sure a lot of that job can be incredibly boring, but maybe he should step aside and let in someone less jaded. Probably won't happen during this administration.

To attain high public office and then just sit there like a toad and not say a word for five years borders on abuse of public office, if there's any such crime. You're supposed to do more than just show up. He's like a sulky second-grader.

Here is video proof that he can talk. There's a soft Reaganite message in this spot that I'm having difficulty parsing.

Doesn't Thomas know that participation counts toward his final grade?

Scalia has already assured him of a gentlemen's B.

Based on stats for the last 20 years, there is a question asked every 27 seconds during Supreme court oral arguments. I don't think that lack of questions is an issue plaguing the court.

Based on the Anita Hill hearings it's very possible he's living life by one simple rule, "Don't say what you are thinking, don't say what you are thinking, don't say what you are thinking."

Be careful narcoleptish, it seems some on here that the simple comment on a black man in the news makes you a racist as well as possibly homophobic....

Your tortured grammar aside, what the fuck are you talking about?
