Brenda,

Exercise and lose some weight. Lay off the beer too. No one takes fatty feminists seriously.

I wonder if this is happening in the immediate vicinity of the relatively new Gates & Brovi restaurant. There isn't much parking on Monroe St near it, and they don't have their own parking lot, As a result, patrons park on the residential streets nearby, which they have every right to do.

On the other hand, I can understand why people in the neighborhood would get annoyed by this.

I know folks who live in Monona where there are no sidewalks. I've been through several neighborhoods over the years and I've never seen anyone do this. I don't see why people can't just walk around cars. Does this happen other places besides the area noted?

The easiest solution is to laugh, crumple up the nasty note, throw it in the yard of the homeowner and go about your business. I mean, really. It can't be half the pain in the ass as my neighbors who would call the cops if i dared leave my VW Bus parked in front of my house without moving it for 3 or 4 days.

Yep, that's the Dave we all know and, uh, know. I thought you weren't ever coming back--finally drank enough courage, did you?

I don't mind when he does this. I'm one of the oldest people here and it's fine with me. I am also smarter than he is and he knows it, so making up lame names is the best he's got.

I still think he needs to tell us how he can tell when a block party didn't get a permit. I could show him how to find out, but I'm not going to.

I don't think he's Dave. More likely Larry.

Not PB--that guy couldn't post a sentence fragment without misspelling two or three words. And BK is Dave's bête noire, not Larry's.

Keyes Ave
Fox Ave
Sheldon St
Gregory St
W Lawn Ave
Leonard St

Those streets are all near Larry and Ann's place, not Dave's.

I wonder where they got the idea that it was rent free.

Both of them have invested large amounts of time and effort in the attempt. In my own humble opinion, more time and effort than the value of the prize.

And both, apparently, got the idea somewhere that it would be a permanent home.

Well, this discussion has certainly devolved into a food fight.

oh, the humanity!

Back to the original tragedy that I reported on: apparently some new businesses have opened around Mallatt's Pharmacy, a new restaurant and something else. This has likely put a demand for off-street parking that the nearby neighbors aren't used to, so they are pushing back with their mighty, mighty orange cones.

Urban living means putting up with other people and their shit. And strangers parking in front of your house is one such annoyance. Or block parties.

I just think if there were more people carrying concealed weapons, a lot of these problems would solve themselves.
