Old Army Reserve Bldg.torn down on S.Park

Postby Bwis53 » Tue Dec 04, 2012 5:08 pm

I was surprised to see the machinery tearing it down. I don't remember reading about any changes for it, other than a possible homeless shelter. Does anyone know if there are plans for this property?

You were surprised? This has been in the works for several years. I tried to get it for Porchlight, but Tim Bruer was having none of it, which is why new facility is on Nekoosa Trail. Here's the planning report. Immediate use will be for extension of Cedar Street, which will unlock large parcel for economic development.

I did find public records through google. Watching the change on Park St. is fascinating.

I noticed at Villager Mall that work is under way for Yue-Wah Oriental Foods, next door new location. Wonder what spot Lane's is going to have.

Speaking of the Park Street revival, anyone know what's going on at the (former?) Clark station at Park and Olin? Looks like all the gasoline tanks are being removed.

They are going to build a larger, more modern Clark station. Hopefully they'll also have cameras and security to prevent so many robberies.
