Heatwave

Postby Shorty » Mon Jun 06, 2011 4:25 pm

Mighty warm for early June. Must be tough on those Walkerville campers. Are there any photos of Walkerville? Haven't seen any yet.

Following Nedlogic this is absolute proof of global warming.

Well, LegumeLogic seems to agree. My poor snap peas braved an inch of snow with no problem, but this is killing them. Poor things. Bring on the cool-cool.

It is killing me. I water my garden in the morning (from my almost empty rain-barrel), and am hoping and praying for some cool rainy weather.

I knew this would happen, probably because it always does. After pining for summer for months, people start wishing it wasn't so darn hot. I am trying to embrace it. As long as I can escape to air conditioning for sleep, I'm OK with the heat. If I thinks it's bothering me, I just look at some pictures that were taken of me snowblowing and roof raking last January. It changes my mindset in a hurry.

I'm with gargantua. I treat days like this like a reptile. I soak up as much as I can (remaining healthy) knowing at some point we'll be locked up for months on end. A month ago it was in the 30-50 degree range and I actually had to deal with snow and ice in one area I was in.

I love this stuff.

Some of us pine for spring. Remember that season?

What did we get this year, about two temperate, nice days between it being frickin' 20 degrees and 100?

Just put some steel drum music in the ear buds, don a colorful loose shirt, break out the rum and oysters and pretend, man, just pretend.

Anyone who classifies two straight days of hot weather a "heatwave" is what my great grandmother used to call "a pussy."

I wasn't referring to just two days of hot weather. I was referring to all of June as of Mon and the forecast for the upcoming days. All 7 days in June so far have been above average, three of them above 90 which were records or near-records. That is very unusual for early June here.

One more hot day today then it's below normal with 60's and 70s for several days in the forecast. What a see saw.
