Ya know, they always expect that sort of thing from the east side. When the west side is involved, I'm...I'm...I'm not mad, I'm just a bit disappointed.

At least Verona rolls off your lips in a slow sexy way, like Veronica.

Sun Prairie is abrupt and stifling, like Agnes.

So, it's decided: Sun Prairie is butch, Verona is fem. Middleton, on the other hand? Your old bachelor uncle: definitely closeted, but beyond that who can say?

Oh definitely. He's done well for himself, has a house full of tacky furniture, lawn ornaments, possibly a waterbed, couple of cats.

Waunakee is a loud woman, with a big frying pan of hair, driving a Lexus suv. She sells real estate.

BELOIT

Excuse me for my rudeness, it wasn't very smart.
But if it came out the other end, it would have been Hobart.

Fitchburg is the privileged, trust-fund teen that's directionless (no downtown) and sheltered, but has a wild streak on the weekends and has already had several run-ins with the law.

In the French, it's pronounced "Ahn-yes." Very nice. It whispers well.

I always understood that Beloit was named after the sound of a penny dropping into a toilet. That's what all the local historians say, anyway.

That's nice but she was still my weird aunt and she didn't hear well, so there wasn't a lot of whispering going on.

This reminds me of how I was taught to remember the name of the Mount Rushmore creator/sculptor- his last name sounds like a fart in a bathtub.

The French pronounciation of Beloit is bel-wah (the name of a hotel cafe there). That also whispers well, as long as you don't watch the news coming out of that town.

But to be fair, almost anything whispers well in French. Case in point:
Savez-vous un bon endroit pour vomir?

Also, I don't appreciate Fitchburg being compared to my misspent youth.

Yes, or "Auriez-vous la gentillese d'aller vous faire enculer par le Tour Eiffel ?" (Said with a nod and an easy smile.)

I'd heard the toilet/Beloit quote attributed to Frank Zappa, but who knows?
