How about the Kipp explosion?

We felt it. Assumed it was just a big truck going by.

We live out by the Barrymore and Jenny Market. Never noticed a thing till we looked up and said "Boy, listen to all them sirens. Must be one heck of a car crash."

We are near OB Sherry park, and seriously heard and felt it. That was quite a cacophony of sirens afterwards, too. Glad no one was hurt.

A mile or so further down Atwood I heard all the sirens and saw rescue vehicles go past, but I have to say I didn't hear or feel the boom.

This is what's so weird about living in the city. You can hear crashes, booms, and other loud noises and it all stays subconscious. When I lived closer to downtown, sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night having heard some really loud crashing sound from the rail corridor, and i'd lie there and wonder when the sirens would start -- and they never did. It'd just be another unexplained loud urban noise. You quit hearing them after a while unless they're truly exceptional.

Apparently by time it got as far as my place, today's Kipp noise wasn't.

But what a horrible working environment! While no one was injured, the noise itself is an occupational hazard.
