That's like asking why UW-Madison isn't on the short list of all-time drinking schools.

But the coop comment has me stopped. The coop has the most gay-friendly staff in the world, but blond dreadlocked gay dudes drinking beer out of mason jars? Where is this happening?

The closest the coop gets to a cruising scene is when fortyish cougar ladies flirt with the tattooed, nose-ring-wearing server at the deli. He ignores them all, and watching them try to get his attention is endlessly entertaining.

I've never seen it either. Maybe they used to and stopped because they didn't figure out that you need to unscrew the lid or it won't work.

As many as you can fit in a Sufjan Stevens release party.

I'm not even gonna google that, I'll just assume it's clever and giggle quietly to myself.

Perhaps these fellows are opening the new Mason Lounge on Park st.

Their ads can say "Bring your own jar, it's that kind of bar" with a picture of two blonde farmers with their limbs and dreads all intertwined.

It's the standard which potentially gay cities are judged against.

A sort of fab-solute zero, if you will.

Very nearly a coined phrase, but certainly band name material.

Just felt like pointing out that no one has bothered to say anything about the West Side Vibe in over a month. All my reasons are too sarcastic to post, your reply will be funny, try it out.

The Vibe section has been like a forum nursing home lately. Little stirs here and there, maybe a cough.

West rhymes with best......we always had a hard time countering that over here on the East side, which conveniently rhymes with least. East will Feast was about the best we ever came up with. Those from the North just stayed out of it. Nothing rhymes with north.

Depending on your accent, it might rhyme with worth or dearth. Or the fourth side – relegated to the last place in line.

One could talk of the beast side, the yeast side, the priest side.

Or the nest side, the messed side, the dressed side, the fest side, the jest side, the pest side, the rest side, the test side, the blessed side

I could not, would not, with a mouse.
I could not, would not, in the South.

At the East/Memorial hoops game the other night, the East kids got going with their standard "East side! East side!" chant. The Memorial kids responded with "Weak side! Weak side!"

East kids had no comeback for that.

Years ago, when West High played East High in sports, the West High students would chant: "West is best, East is least."

Is Igor being sarcastic because Odana and Le Tigre are on the far east side of the west side? Is the dividing line Midvale Blvd? I want to know where the line is, because I feel if I cross it I will be gunned down in my SUV 2Pac style by a gang of rogue east-siders.

Can anyone explain to me why the West Side has two farmer's markets, the downtown has one, and as far as I know, the east side has none?

There's the East Side Farmers' Market on Tuesday evenings, on the Central Park grounds. And now there's the new Capital View Farmers' Market on Sharpsburg in Grandview Commons on Wednesday evenings. There's also the Monona Farmers' Market on Sundays if you don't mind your East and your South mixing up a little.
