That's funny as hell.

I don't know about tonight, but we are most definitely going, and bringing the dogs too. I'm thinking of asking if they can just keep our dogs there all day while we work, like mascots, and then we can pick them up on the way home.

A tragically hip PDQ with prices to match?

Am I missing something here?

Yes, you are, but it isn't surprising.

Because monsterface links to three articles on the topic.

Edited...sorry...two articles on the topic and one jellyfish.

No, Jesse, the proper response is:

What is Ned missing?

A) a soul
B) a sense of community pride (as opposed to plain old egotistical pride)
C) an appreciation of art and creativity
D) room in his ass hole due to the huge stick crammed up there
E) all of the above

And the answer is......E!! DING DING DING DING!!!

That's how you do the shake, partner.

(edited for tense agreement)

Um, yeah. I know. That was my takeaway. Again, am I missing something?

Well...this is one thing that stands out - how she treats employees:
Dane101 wrote:"she offers paid fitness breaks, a vacation buy-in program, and a home savings plan â?? she matches what they put into a savings account for buying their own real estate."

I don't know any business that does the latter.

I forgot another choice: a home address anywhere near Madison!

Go fuck yourself, Ned!

On a more topical note (although when is telling Ned to fuck off not germane?), MoCo is pretty fun. It'll be better as it gets a couple more days under its belt, but the selection is pleasant. We were left wondering if the "bring your dogs in" idea might have gotten scrapped. There isn't much space. The salad bar looked tasty--avocado slices! We bought some dog treats and a box of somewhat indulgent popcorn. My companion was excited to see Sukie laptop and iPod cases.

I peeked around last night. Bessie sure had alot to say about something so small that didn't seem fully developed yet. Maybe I didn't get to spend enough time there, but it seemed like another Burrito-Drive-esque situation--a store opening slightly prematurely while still maintaining functionality.

The people were nice. That Jodie girl from the Dane101 article was working, so I got to tell her she was famous. She was extremely pleasant, and showed me her sushi masterpieces for the day. She featured avocado/asparagus/red pepper and avocado/tuna pieces. However, I prefer my sushi with the rice around the outside, so while it was pretty, it wasn't too appealing. Without even trying it, my instinct was that I'd rather go see Pone at the Corner Store up a block for her sushi.

Also, I take serious issue with markets that don't put prices on their food. Not a thing for sale was tagged with a ticket. Maybe my mother's bargain shopper tendencies have worn off on me (probably not), but I like to know how much something costs before I buy it. Is that just me?

Do we really have to discuss Bookie's "shortcomings" in this thread?

Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement. Why are ya hatin' on me?

It sounds like you're making my point.

Yes, yes you are making my point.

Bordeaux Slurpies and Godiva-coated ding-dongs may appeal to some, but I, and apparently monsterface, will take our bidness elsewhere! Gentlemen!

No, it's not just you. I'm fairly sure, however, that they're still tagging their shelves. The clerks were at it when I visited yesterday, and I'm sure it will continue through today.
