If the Capitol Cops can't arrest them for singing, there is always trumped up gun charges.

Protesters file some 15,000 complaints against Capitol police over Solidarity Sing Along arrests

On Tuesday, Bob Syring and Jerry McDonough filed some 15,000 complaints with the Capitol Police, alleging officers engaged in harassment and other misconduct in issuing about 250 citations to protesters between July 24, 2013, and Sept. 6.
...
Despite the volume of complaints, Syring and McDonough say Capitol Police will have to respond to them all. "That's the law," says Syring.

This will keep them busy for a while.

I will continue to risk arrest because I am a grandmother and I believe the Sing is an important active voice of dissent against Walker's scorched earth governance and sale of our state. One day my grandchildren may ask me what I was doing while their state was being dismantled and I want to be able to tell them that I did the best I could to express my outrage and disappointment. My grandchildren and I will never be invited to the governor's office, his mansion, or his numerous in and out-of-state posh dinners. Our voices aren't backed by obscene amounts of money or promises for current and future power. Getting handcuffed, escorted to the basement of the Capitol, and appearing in court are frightening to me but I am more frightened about the future of my 6th generation grandchildren in a state which is unrecognizable to me. I will continue to raise my voice, regardless of the consequences, and urge other WI parents and grandparents to do the same.

Marie, I am SO proud of you. I've been to a few of the sing a longs but I work a little far from the Square to be a regular. I have attended many of the protests even in below zero weather and all were peaceful protests by WISCONSIN citizens. I am planning to purchase a copy of the book release --"Unintimidated"-- not Scooters delusional spin pulp but the book where the proceeds are going to help the legal defense fund for people being ticketed in the Capitol for the offense of --gasp-- singing protest songs. You know, it shows the true nasty character of Fitzwalkerstan when they will handcuff and authorize police to push around a bunch of senior citizens to shut them up.

I understand that Frugal Muse on the West Side has the book for sale and that's where I'm going. No, I have no affiliation with the store except it's a wonderful used book store and more. Marie you should be proud for singing loud. I am. Your grandchildren will be proud too.

Defendants have appealed a ruling by the trial court and now can use the discovery process for witnesses and other evidence in the hundreds of arrests. I see many, if not most charges being dismissed. Van Hollen wants to be a judge and hundreds of messy trials might get in the way of his ambitions.

Felons not prosecuted because the DOJ was busy defending the state's suppression of free speech.

A couple weeks ago, Dane County Circuit Judge Peter Anderson ordered the state Department of Justice to run a cost-benefit analysis for pursuing some 400 citations against Capitol protesters.

Anderson wants the DOJ to weigh the benefit of prosecuting the cases involving Solidarity Sing Along participants against costs such as defense attorneys, bailiffs, court staff, witnesses, prosecutors, etc.

One reader emailed with this suggestion:

“Part of the cost benefit analysis suggested by Judge Anderson should look at all of the arguably more significant and serious cases, especially those involving felonies, that are being backlogged because all of the DOJ resources are being spent on these protester forfeiture cases. I know of one such case.”

The Capitol Police continue with unjustified arrests, intimidation and violence.

71-year-old Madison activist says Capitol Police officer injured her during arrest Saturday

The cop involved has a record of such bad behavior.

This woman sustained a pretty nasty laceration from the Keystone Kop's handcuffs. She has filed a police brutality complaint. I hope she soaks the State for some bucks AND gets this asshole pig fired (without his pension). There are many nice cops out there. This prick isn't one of them.

What will happen to the Sing Along after Nov 4? If I enjoy the Sing Along and want it to continue, I should vote for Walker, right?

If Burke pulls off the upset we need to organize the biggest sing-a-long yet. Thousands of people flooding the Capitol and singing songs of hope and joy. An irreverent farewell to the most divisive governor that Wisconsin has ever seen.

I would attend that.

Yeah, but you have to be at least 18 years old to vote so you're out of luck for a few years yet.

Do you ever have anything useful to say? Or just idiotic insults?

No, Burke is a man and will immediately legalize marijuana upon election. A woman on the TV told me so.
