Burke?

I know people want a business person but Trek makes most of the company's bikes in Asia. Wouldn't exactly be an inspiring story of business savvy.

How long until we understand that "business savvy" politicians are destroying the country? Business people aren't using government to make America better, they're using it to make themselves richer.

Government is not and should not be a business. We need statesmen, not business men.

Seems okay for people to switch to politics from other professions, including business. Journalists, academics, doctors, haberdashers and others have started successful political careers.

We've experienced what happens when business people switch to politics, and it hasn't been good.

Let's get more journalists, academics, doctors, and haberdashers in there. Bartenders, mechanics and grocery store clerks, too.

The last time we put a haberdasher in power, he dropped TWO nuclear bombs. Can we really trust what will happen when a haberdasher gets the call at 3 AM?

I'm pretty sure the Wisconsin governor doesn't have access to nuclear codes. If so, it would likely have been a different kind of bomb dropped on unions.

You left out aging B-movie actors. Since television is today's equivalent of B movies, that opens the field up. Gov. Wopat, anyone?

Here, let's just go to the source and run down the list. That seems easier than coming up with names off the cuff.

If Tony Shalhoub can bridge the gap between network sitcom and cable procedural, he can bring a divided electorate back together.

During the recall, Russ said he had only legislative experience and a governor needs executive experience to govern. Obey, when he was asked to run, also said he would be too acerbic in any debates, as he speaks his mind directly and bluntly.

Obey and Kohl have come up in this thread. Obey is 74, Kohl 78. Who are the younger Democratic stars of Wisconsin politics, the Gen-Xers? Scott Walker is 45, Rebecca Kleefisch 37.
