Don't say that, bdog. Mr. Henry provides extremely valuable information to the readers of this board.

Especially the readers who are communists.

I don't always agree with Mr. Vilas, but in this case he merely posted an article, laying out some facts.

The responses by you and and your fellow travelers are quite telling.

Trash talk, lying, ad hominem attacks: anything to avoid addressing the content of the article.

Henry might be a neo-reformed-Maoist for all I know, but that's really besides the point. What do you want your country to look like? Are you comfortable knowing that the entire middle-class is slowly descending into poverty while the billionaires get richer? Do you really think those tax-cut-for-the-very-rich are going to 'trickle down' someday?

I think the entire theory of trickle down economics was thoroughly disproved by Obama's stimulus and cash-for-clunkers programs.

Not quite true. Mr. Henry also called bdog a troll and told him to fuck off.

Wrong. After my opening post, bdog called me a troll. That's when I told him to post about the subject at hand or to fuck off. He has done neither since.

He was only mirroring for you the way you routinely go around calling other posters "Troll". Also, you frequently make personal attacks on posters of whom you disapprove.

Discussing screen personalities is being used as a distraction to avoid answering questions like these.

Meade gave the reply that the efficacy of trickle-down was disproven by the cash-for-clunkers program, though I can't imagine what that has to do with tax cuts for the very rich. You might as well say the cash-for-clunkers program disproved the existence of the easter bunny. However, nobody else has touched the questions with a ten foot pole so he gets one point.

From the general refusal to answer, I infer the answers would be too uncomfortable to contemplate. The biggie is "what do you want your country to look like?" Every policy and policy change has goals. State them.

Okay. My answer is, it's already happened, there ain't a damned thing we can do about it, our descendants are going to pick up the pieces while they curse our memories. We have lost and we are going to get back nothing.

It's now a feudal system run by people who are happy if they have plenty of power and fortified enclaves, everything else be damned. It'll topple but not in my lifetime.

Henry Vilas wrote:What T.R. said over 100 years ago still applies today.
The absence of effective State, and, especially, national, restraint upon unfair money-getting has tended to create a small class of enormously wealthy and economically powerful men, whose chief object is to hold and increase their power. The prime need to is to change the conditions which enable these men to accumulate power which it is not for the general welfare that they should hold or exercise.
...
Therefore, I believe in a graduated income tax on big fortunes, and in another tax which is far more easily collected and far more effective-a graduated inheritance tax on big fortunes...

-Theodore Roosevelt

Bump.

Was T.R. a communism, a socialist or a republican?

Hey, Mr. Henry, when the 1907 economic downturn hit, did your hero, President Teddy Roosevelt decrease government debt, keep government debt the same, or increase government debt by $4 trillion?

There's gonna be gloating and celebrating for years, even as their country collapses around them.

And based on recent history, they'll simultaneously manage to blame socialist liberal america haters for that collapse even as they sing songs of victory.

Everyone is whining and crying that we're not paying enough attention to the subject matter in this thread, so lets address the opening comments directly:

Henry Vilas wrote:Only the little people pay Wisconsin income tax.

It is totally absurd to claim that only people of short stature pay Wisconsin income tax. Please explain, if you dare, how this statement of yours is true.

I see you totally avoided a direct answer and asked a non-relevant one instead.

So, based on the T.R. quote from his New Nationalism speech, was he a socialist or communist (like you call others who express the same opinions as Teddy)?
