Why should taxpayers' money be spent on a private school with no accountability to the government board that would spend your and my money?

The short answer is that it would have worked. It would have addressed the achievement gap between white and minority students in the district, and would have given these students a goal and direction. This model has been working all over the country, and I don't hear any talk of a plan that is actually going to address this problem by the MMSD. They better start coming up with one quickly.

Proof that the school board cares nothing about kids.

If that's proof then what does cutting $900 million out of education prove?

Explain this to me. How are you "cutting $900 million out of education?"

I'm not. Walker did.

If the money was there it probably would have passed. I'm not a Walker fan but he is not solely to blame for the financial problems all units of government are suffering from.

Really? I don't know how you expect the board to approve building an entire new school when they're dealing with this massive budget cut. Let me ask you this Earthling. If this Charter school was going to employ union teachers would you still support spending public money on it?

Proof please.

My biggest sticking point is the lack of accountability. Please don't use the line that our current system is not accountable because it is. It's called oversite. Madison Prep wanted absolutely NO accountability. Give the school board oversite for a few years to make sure it works and then come back to the table.

I would have supported it, but think that using non-union teachers is what enables these types of programs to bring in the best teachers. They promise higher pay and less job security because they are non-union.

Proof please. Do you have a breakdown of what Madison Prep was going to pay the teachers?

MTI's latest victims = black children

the isthmus tabloid's latest victims = black children

progressive dane's latest victims = black children

MPS's latest victims = black children

Shorewood Hill's latest victims = black children

black children = Madison's establishment's most useful tools

It's sick how process really works in this town. Sick.

I wish there was someone with enough money and inside access to sue MTI. Sue them into the ground. They hurt so many people in this town and keep getting away with it.

Sue MTI for what? State the legal grounds. You have nothing.
