Retired scientists from universities and the DNR form "Wisconsin's Green Fire to fill science-driven duties once entrusted to the DNR.

They plan to testify at hearings, speak to civic groups, give interviews and generally continue the public information work they did during their careers.

So the real problem is that the DNR is actually run by 'squares'...

Now that the DNR isn't responsible for removing deer carcasses from the roadways, they should have plenty of time for other things;)

Cathy Stepp takes charge of EPA office that is pressuring her DNR

Now that Stepp will heading the EPA's Chicago office, she will have oversight on Wisconsin's enforcement of federal environmental regulations. <Shudder>

Step 1. eliminate State environmental regulations; "We don't need them because we have Federal regulations".
Step 2. undermine Federal regulations.

DNR appeals to reinstate high-capacity pumping from vulnerable aquifers

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has gone to court to reinstate high-capacity well permits that its own experts said would harm vulnerable lakes, streams and drinking water.

The DNR has filed with the state Court of Appeals District 2 in Waukesha to overturn Dane County Circuit Judge Valerie Bailey-Rihn’s ruling in October throwing out eight industrial well permits granted to businesses by the DNR.

Bailey-Rihn ruled that the permits ran afoul of a constitutional provision requiring state government to protect water for the public.

"These huge high-cap wells pump millions of gallons of water every day, in an area of the state where streams are drying up and lakes levels are falling," said Katie Nekola, general counsel for Clean Wisconsin.

The case highlights a longstanding controversy over high-capacity wells and their impact on waterways and aquatic life, especially in central Wisconsin.

Under pressure from industrial well users and a Republican-controlled Legislature, the DNR made a policy change in June 2016 that led to the approval of 190 high-capacity well permits in a matter of months. The department had previously been withholding some permit approvals.

Ensuring the Destruction of Natural Resources to assist corporate/big business profits.

Disgusting.

That's not very nice. You should think of it as Distribution of Natural Resources - you know, distribute them to the people who get the most value out of them.
