Austin "the redistribution" King is finally gone

Postby pulsewidth modulation » Wed Apr 18, 2007 7:53 am

The long nightmare is over. Don't let the door hit you on the way out dirt bag.

How could anyone not be happy when there is one less "social justice center" proxy on the "council" to worry about?

You've got something against social justice?

If this post by PM is the best the wingnuts can do, it's no wonder Madison and the rest of the country continue to reject their crabbed and petty worldview.

And, btw -- just because someone has a different political philosophy, that doesn't make them a "dirt bag."

Although in your case, I can see how it might.

But when it is counter to your views the person is a wingnut?

I think most of us wingnuts would just like for him to back away from the microphone and go away so we can miss him.

A lot of people who express well-reasoned views that are counter to progressive, or liberal views are certainly not wingnuts. But, when their contribution to the discussion is to call someone whose opinion is counter to their views a dirtbag....well, yeah, I think wingnut fits in that case.

Agreed. To be fair it doesn't make them a "dud" either, as Isthmus proclaimed of Cindy Thomas in this article based solely on her voting record.

Excuse Cindy for the having the audacity to disagree on these things!

Riiiight. Not many people like the new right, myself included. That being said, they sure as hell reject the socialist left. So lets recap:

1. One less PD alder on the council
2. Barak Obama is center left, he is not a socialist
3. The voters have chosen reformers for the school board; they no longer accept fiscal irresponsibility while budgeting to crisis
4. TIF reform is on its way
5. Private property rights took precedent over government land takings during the Todd Drive debacle (remember that one Stu?)
6. AB207 will soon end city channel 12's left wing socialist propaganda

Don't let the facts get in the way of your precious belief system.

And you're not including yourself in the "new right"?

AB207 benefits nobody but corporate media. Is that where your allegiances lie?

Incidentally, even King's most vehement detractors in city government wouldn't call him a dirtbag. That you have, and did so anonymously, doesn't say much for your character.

city channel 12's left wing socialist propaganda

Please show me one example of "left wing socialist propaganda" on MCC-12.

You're full of shit and you know it.

That nappy airheaded ho, Vikki Kratz is sure a journalistâ??s journalist, fair and balanced all the way. In real newspapers that article would not go under a banner declaring NEWS.

That's a nice simplistic political statement. What is "corporate media?" Sports broadcasting? "Free speech TV?" You like sports jjoyce? What gives?

It will benefit me when there is no more use for city channel 12 and my property taxes will go down. Well, I'm sure they won't go down; what was budgeted for city channel 12 will just be used for something else. Not to mention, socialists will actually have to pay to air their views over private cable wires and phone lines if AB207 passes. "Democracy Now" and "WORT" have been paying for quite some time, now it's time for the rest of you to pay your fair share. Someone has to pay to keep these lines operational, why shouldn't Stu Levitan and Brenda Konkel?

Just keep pushing the scares and see where it gets you...

You think the abolition of community access cable is going to result in a lowering of your property taxes?

I'm not sure if that's a naive statement or a stupid one. I guess it depends on how much the other Forons think you know about government, politics and the budgeting process.

Hey, PM:

See, some of us think there's a value to the citizenry in being able to watch meetings of the Common Council or city committees, or get a chance to question their political leaders on live TV.

You apparently disagree. So why do you hate democracy so much?

I beg to differ.

Pulse is most certainly full of shit, don't get me wrong. Your error lies in your assumption that he's conscious of his fecal constitution. In reality, he's as oblivious to this fact as to every other ever presented him.
