Charter Extended Basic

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Charter Extended Basic

Postby Henry Vilas » Sat Mar 27, 2010 9:16 pm

I'm cheap and don't have Charter cable's digital package, although I do have an HDTV. Recently I've notice many channels on their extended basic service are now in high def. Anyone else notice the change?

Not that I'm complaining.

I confess I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention because we wont be purchasing an HD set for another year or so, but I thought the airwaves went high def some months ago. PBS kept running those ads where they showed you how to get and hook up the magic boxes that make prehistoric TV sets able to play HD signals and all that. Seems like that sort of thing would bleed over to basic cable sooner or later.
