Woolery or Sajak

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Who was a better host of Wheel of Fortune?

I'll never forgive that sheep-fucker Woolery for Love Connection.

On the other hand, Sajak is like Dan Quayle if Quayle thought he was Henny Youngman. I get tsuris just thinking about it!

Can we have a 'Fuck 'em both' option on the poll?

PS - And what the fuck is the deal with Neil Peart? Did Rush play WOF in some alternate universe?

Alright - what gives?

Last night there was a post on here from white rabbit about Wink Martindale. Today it's gone.

Did our lapine friend accidentally leak information fingering Mr. Martindale as complicit in 9/11? Or was he leaned on by Pat Sajak's goons?

Can I buy a vowel of the truth?

I read this now vanquished post as well.

Is there any way to add categories to a poll after it has been posted?

If so, I would greatly appreciate directions, as I would like to add categores for Fuck 'em both, Wink Martindale, and possibly Simon Le Bon.

I saw this post, too. And it's not only wr's posts that are disappearing. Lots of them do. I see them through bloglines and sometimes I think they're interesting so I go investigate the rest of the thread and the posts are gone.
I blame the satellites.

In my game show world, there is only Gene Rayburn.

Marvell loses a point for not embracing the pure kitsch nostalgic snapshot crap that Love Connection is.
Elimidate and Next will unfortunately HoverRound us into the future.
We will never be able to come back to the innocence of Love Connection.
Not even in 2 and 2 million years.

Wasn't that Dylan's follow-up to "Positively 4th Street?"

Dear Marvell/Herve/Mr. Villechaize (whichever you prefer as I do not want to incur the wrath of "the pain, the pain," as I still suffer from herpes as a result of a dalliance with "the whore, the whore"):

Could you please explain the reference above? For me, it invokes the image of Simon Le Bon in Bob Dylan's shoes singing The Reflex, quite the drag indeed, and most certainly not the meaning you intended to convey (or is it?).

Thank you,

Dazed and Confused

It was a dumb joke.

'Positively' becomes 'possibly.' '4th Street,' the knowingly iconic address of smart 60's bohemian cool, becomes 'Simon LeBon' - the equally iconic exemplar of 80's coporate-engineered 'cool.' Post-modernism degrades into cliche.

Puerile word play combined with leftist cultural commentary - just my usual shtick.

With apologies to Mark Twain, the frog has now died.
