Do you like travelling? No. It's expensive and I don't like hotels. It's bad for the environment. I get tired of restaurant food.

Where have you been? Most of the USA, but never outside North America.

I don't like the process of traveling, such as getting to airports and going through the security lines. I don't like the experience of flying these days.

But I do like the destinations. My favorite was the Greek Isles in 07, in early September....Santorini, Mykonos, Ios, to name a few. I'd love to relive that trip.

Odd how these threads just randomly pop up occasionally. Coincidentally, just last night I dreamed that we were preparing to go back to Ireland with our friends. Haven't been there since 2002. I was struck by how happy we were at the prospect of going back there, so I guess that qualifies as a nice dream.

Travel while you can. Sometime in the near future it may be cost-prohibitive or impossible.

I don't blame him. You never know when you might get menaced by a thug wielding a bag of microwave popcorn.

Seriously, though, I suspect that among us all we've been pretty much anywhere, so "anywhere" pretty much answers your question.* What do you like? Big cities? Tropical islands? Penguins and leopard seals? Sand?

* Does not include Carbondale, Illinois, O'Donnell, New Mexico, or the entire state of Iowa.

Just got back from 2 weeks wandering the UK - London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and a week around Ireland. I LOVE travel - not the lines or airplanes part, but being in a new space and seeing new things and meeting new people. It's absolutely a refreshing experience. I strongly encourage travel - if you have the means, it can be so easy now - thousands of blogs and sites to help you create the experience YOU want. Hate hotels? Airbnb is a really great alternative. Hate restaurants? Rent a self-catering flat and cook your own. There is so much world - go see some!
