Joint Effort presents
(Daly City records)
Born in Taiwan R.O.C. to rocket scientist father and kindergarten teacher mother, David Wang (a.k.a. Mochipet) has been tinkering with electronics all of his life. However, it was not until he added music to the equation that something began to spark. Growing up on metal guitar, Avant-Garde Jazz, and mainstream hip-hop, David has always been a person of diversity. And we can see this in his music, ever changing, and always evolving.
Through out his career Mochipet has worked Legendary Skateboarder Ray Barbee (Powell Peralta), Techo producer Ellen Allien (Berlin), Hip-hop MCs Mikah9 (Freestyle Fellowship), Casual (Hieroglyphics Oakland), and Raashan Ahmad (Crown City Rockers), Electro Miami Gangster Otto Von Schirach (Ipecac), Booty Bass Rockstars 215 The Freshest Kids and Spank Rock (BigDada) Mashup Glitch Tweeker Kid606 (Tigerbeat6), Edwardian suit-wearing Daedelus (Ninjatune), Glitch Popstars Jahcoozi (Kitty-Yo), and Avant-Garde Jazz Legend Weasel Walter (Flying Luttenbachers).
David’s music has caught the ears of the Sports and Skateboarding world as well. His song Sharp Drest (With Eric Solo and oonceoonce) is featured in the NBA2k9 Videogame along side acts such as Beastie Boys, N.E.R.D., and The Cool Kids. You may have also heard his music on FuelTV and Directv with skate legends such as: Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Christian Hasoi, Ray Barbee, Laban Pheidias, Jason “Weeman” Acuna, and Anthony Van Engelen.
David runs an independent label called Daly City Records and endorses products such as M-Audio and Puma. He is currently working on several new projects including ones with Joyo Velarde, Lyrics Born, Antipop Consortium’s M. Sayyid, and Chicago’s MC Zulu.
with special guests
A project started 3+ years ago. A lot of time and tweaking spent on getting our instruments set up to achieve the vision we have of taking live electronic music to a new level of playability. both musicians first (joshua-drums,joe-guitar)....it goes like this- both have spent many years in various music projects, be it funk, rock, metal, djing, experimental noise, breakcore, jungle/drum&bass, disco.........well, we like a lot of different music and it comes through in our songwriting through ZEROBEAT.
adoptahighway is the moniker of classically trained music producer Barry Paul Clark and Half of Omega Clash, a project with Brainfeeder/ Ninja Tune recording artist Lorn. Throughout his years of formal music training and receiving a bachelor’s degree in classical performance, Clark devoted time and efforts to his electronic compositions. The formal training helped Clark in developing a unique sound with knowledge of classical theory, harmony and composition techniques. Using controllers and performance software, his live shows are energetic, emotive, engaging and honest. Clark firmly believes that, rather than tag genres or artists to his music to give a predetermined expectation, listeners should be encouraged to open their ears and try to find their own connection to the sound.
