As part of this year’s Madison Horror Film Festival, Madison Horror will be presenting a special pre-party benefit for WYOU television. The event will be held the night before the festival on Friday October 7th at the Regent Street Retreat (formerly The Annex) located at 1206 Regent St. in Madison, WI. The doors for this ages 21+ event open at 7:45Pm and the cost of admission is $5 at the door with all proceeds going to benefit WYOU. Festival advance ticket holders will be admitted to the event for free and will get a $5 coupon for Madison Ghost Walks Capitol tour plus a portion of the advance ticket sale price will also go to benefit WYOU. WYOU will also be in attendance with an information booth where patrons will be able to buy raffle tickets to win some really great prizes later on in the show. Free Ale Asylum beer and popcorn will be available as long as it lasts.
The show will kick off at 8:30 with a screening of the Swedish film “Troll Hunter”. The film had rave reviews at the 2011 Wisconsin Film Festival and promises to have something to please everyone. Following that we will be presenting the newest short film by director Thomas Berdinski entitled “The Giant Rubber Monster Movie - Sascratch Versus Afrodesious”. The film is a tongue in cheek Homage to Japanese giant rubber monster TV series and stars not only giant monsters but horror hosts Sigmund Zoid along with Marlena Midnite and Robyn Graves of Midnite Mausoleum. Thomas Berdinski will be on hand along with the hosts of Midnite Mausoleum to field any questions the audience may have.
Following the films, we will be doing a live web broadcast of WYOU’s late night horror show, Bordello of Horror hosted by Freakshow and Sinister Seductress Stormy. The broadcast will include live commentary, along with portions of the live music and short films from past festivals. The live music for the event will be provided by Madison Surf Rock kings Knuckel Drager and the Fab Gore, The Zombeatles with a screening off the Zombeatles film “All You Need Is Brains” prior to the performance hosted by Angus Macabre, Scotland’s funniest Zombie comedian.
