Hometown S'Hearts/Low Czars at HNS 7/06/07

Got a gig coming up? A CD coming out? A new bass player who looks like Jesus and smells like a field of posies? If you're selling or promoting something, post it here.

Hometown S'Hearts/Low Czars at HNS 7/06/07

Hometown Sweethearts
The Low Czars
Friday July 666
at Der High Nooner Salooner
10 pm $6

What once started out as a dumb joke band to make a few bucks has turned into Madison's favorite cover band--and it's their 5-year Anniversary! The Hometown Sweethearts are finicky music lovers. Instead of covering the same old songs heard again and again, they perform the forgotten songs; songs you danced to in your room; songs your grandparents sung to you; the songs you thought only you remembered. They go from Elvis Costello to Elvis Presely; Elton John to Motorhead, Jessie's Girl to Punk Rock Girl. New Wave, old country, indie rock, movie songs, TV theme songs, disco, you name it. It's hard not to have fun at a Hometown Sweethearts show--so come out and show some love!

The Low Czars
are neither low nor Russian but we are Lowe and are often rushing. The Low Czars are tyrants of the stage and will rock you into a whimpering, quivering pile of purple Jello, utilizing the greatest and most obscure rockin' covers you've (n)ever heard. And yes, we have ex-DP superstar Charles Schick in our midst, so be kind when he takes his washboard solo.

Oh I saw that. Jammy's just jealous that Chuck is in a band that actually plays out.

Forget it man. Cover bands are all the rage.

This weekend's going to be fun.

I ask you: Is there a more dedicated local performer?
I dare say, no.

If you ask real nice, maybe Waylan'll play you a Police song...

I'll be covering "all the bases" at this show, which means Ace Of Bass.

--nt--

PS - Frankly, I do this pretty much every day. I just figured I needed some hype.
