I noticed my plum tomatoes get over ripe if they lay on their side, on the counter. I googled. Some recommend stem side down. Others don't. Should they be on a paper towel? Tell me your secret!
I put mine stem side down with any tomatoes. Can't say why exactly, but think it is maybe because that is the part where I cut the most away. I leave them in styrofoam on the windowsill and try to use them before the become overripe.
