National Drink Wine Day — today

Postby fennel » Thu Feb 18, 2016 5:20 pm

[In this category, since wine is really more of a food than, say, akin to a cocktail. ]
Some website, maybe a marketing assoc. for all I know, wrote:National Drink Wine Day is celebrated annually on February 18 across the United States.

The purpose of National Drink Wine Day is to spread the love and health benefits of wine. Wine has played an important role in history, religion and relationships. We embrace the positive benefits of wine such as new friends, reduced risk of heart disease and the enhancement of food and life.
That's good enough for me. I'll be having a nice Rhone.

May have a bit of wine before bed. For now a shooter of brandy and a beer chaser.

Well, you get half credit, then, since brandy is essentially distilled wine.

Oh, phooo! If I'd known that, I'd have bought myself a nice bottle of Beaujolais!

Wine gives me heartburn.
I'll just drink an extra beer tonight instead.

Darn it, didn't see this until today. Picked up a bottle of Torrontes for a belated celebration this evening.

I'm thinking National Drink Wine Month would make more sense.

I didn't know about and accidentally complied. But I think fennel's right, it needs a little more than one day.

Do fortified wines count by the way? Wild Irish Rose in the afternoon?

Hmmm, I would say 3/4 credit for fortified wines such as Port or Sherry.

But Wild Irish Rose is going to cost you points unless you can verify that you're not of legal drinking age. In any case I feel your pain. Or, at least, I keenly remember it.

I started today but I don't think I can drink wine everyday for a month. Variety is the spice of life.

Exaaaaaactly. This is why I like wine so much.

But water is good, too, I admit.
