New Orleans Takeaway on Monroe

Postby kissyfish » Mon Jan 03, 2011 1:49 pm

Somehow I missed the notice of the closing of this establishment. I went to go get an oyster poboy last wed, and to my chagrin, the restaurant was no longer there.

There appeared to have been another in its place.

Makes me sad, I loved the oyster poboy!

That really surprises me. Too bad. They seemed to be busy.

That sucks.

I agree, I will miss their Oyster Po'Boy and their potato salad.

What went in its place? Let me guess...tacos...

I don't know what the OP is referring to, but I assure y'all that New Orleans Take-Out on Monroe is alive and well and doing business in the same spot it has for years.

Fish, are you perhaps thinking of the place that used to be near Michael's? Can't remember the name, but that place hasn't been there in forever. Did a kick-ass gumbo though.

Or Kipp's, née North American Rotisserie?

I was just coming here to report the same as you, Unc, after doing so on The Twitter.

That would be good news. I thought I did a pretty good scan of the area whilst driving by, but I must have been mistaken.

I will search again, and will not be so fickle with my lunchtime affection anymore, I vow to be true to the oyster poboy from now on.

Happy New Years all!
