Romantic lunch on a Monday?

Any ideas? A place that had a lunch special would be great!

Lunch? As in the meal that is eaten around noon? I would imagine grabbing a bottle of wine, some cheese, procuttio and crackers from Fromagination and spreading a blanket on the capital lawn if it's a sunny day could be romantic.

The subject of this post just does not jibe with the content. Lunch special? What about best motel rates by the hour?

I'm a student...there's nothing wrong with getting a good deal on lunch. :P Makes no sense to pay full price when many restaurants offer a lunch special to bring in customers.

State St, maybe Chautara. Interesting decor, daily specials. A seat at the window facing State St. would give you fodder for discussion if the conversation lulls. Lots of places on State have specials because of students, some of them even post them in the window so you can look before you go in.

Have a nice time. I hope you and your date enjoy wherever you go. :D

Back patio, overlooking Lake Monona, Paisan's.

UW Student Union Terrace, overlooking Lake Mendota.

Anyone know if the Sardine, has lunch?

Edgewater Hotel, Lake Mendota, and the rooms are right there, just incase...

It's not that there's something wrong with it. It's just that there's nothing right with it. If you need to conserve money, cook for yourself, or reel in a favor from a good pal and have him or her cook for the two of you (or 3 of you, whatever). If need be, make your very own vegetable broth from dried bouillon, supplemented with that one culinary gesture only you can provide. Garnish it with a fresh chive flower harvested with your very teeth from a schmancy sidewalk garden. Add lavender from your Grandmother's hand-sewn sachets. Whatever.
But "lunch special?" Please! Be a little less reasonable!
