Need late-night Tuesday restaurants!

Postby Ashley » Mon Mar 10, 2008 7:11 pm

I need recommendations for places that are open past 11PM this Tuesday. I've been googling various restaurants and bars but the majority are closed at this time. I need places that are nearby the Capitol. Thanks!

Welcome to Madison where most restaurants close at just about the time you would expect they'd just be opening.

The Tornado serves their late night menu from 10-1am. Menu here.

Tornado would be my pick.

The Old Fashioned on Pinckney serves a late-night menu 10-midnight.

Further out, the Weary Traveler on Williamson serves their full menu until 1a.m.

Try Osteria Papavero. I really like this restaurant, and it's probably one of the better ones that is open late. I'd call just to double check if they serve food that late, but they do mention late night dining on their site.

Nat Spiel would probably be nice on a Tuesday. Casbah used to serve late but I don't know about the new owners.

Natt Spil is probably the best bet for something not too fried after 10 pm around the square. I love the Old Fashioned, too, but not sure what their late night menu is. It depends on whether you're looking for a quiet place to chat, or a hotspot still serving food.
The 3-cup chicken or tofu at Natt Spil is so yummy, and reasonably priced... mmmmm.

Papavero won't be open at the time you are looking for; however, as others have mentioned, Natt Spil will still be serving and is right around the corner.

Try a pork sandwich or the peperoni and mushroom pizza.

I will also endorse Natt Spiel. You can get some non-traditional bar food on that menu and the price/service is excellent.

What about the Great Dane? Do they still cook at that hour? Paradise? Shamrock?

Great Dane still serves but from a more limited menu. Old Fashioned stops serving by 11.

I'll second the 3 cup tofu at Natt Spil.

And it's still Great Dane food. I mean, it ain't bad for brewpub cuisine, but... meh.

Just be warned that the "three cups" refers to the amount of salt not the tofu!!

Were you there on a weekend?

I stopped in at 10:45 on Thursday, February 28 and was told that they serve until 11.

Nope, last Tues.

Full house by the time we left at 8:30... that place must just be printing money.
