Omigod, I so welcome it. How else could I possibly know which mall chain-stores are worthy of praise and which are not!? I was totally gonna shop at this one strip-mall, but then I read your review and like, now I'm totally not going to! Next, I hope you tell me why the restaurant I thought I liked actually sucks -- oh, and be sure to include a description of the chairs!

TheBookPolice wrote:You yourself admitted you were going to make a snarky Apple comment, but instead made a left-handed pseudo-amendment to further irk the Apple people.

Maybe if "the Apple people" didn't take themselves so damn seriously or write paeans about how utterly fantastic it would be if they would only open a store nearby they wouldn't be such easy targets.
Heh.
The Apple People.
You brand yourself -- with a brand name, no less -- and don't understand why people poke fun?
Get a clue. I was neither shocked nor offended when folks made nerd cracks on my Gary Gygax thread... but, man, don't mess with The Apple People, dude!

TheBookPolice wrote:And I don't see how someone taking a matter of potential violation of the law to the police is that ridiculous. Where is the line of demarcation where one body part is report-to-the-cops worthy, and a lesser part is not?

Dude. You can't be serious.
Hair in food.
It happens all the time.
It's happened to you.
Did you go to the cops?

It's pretty obvious who's itching for a fight on this thread and it ain't (or at least wasn't) me.
I was just having a little fun.
But now my afternoon is ruined and it's all your fault.
Thanks a lot, jerk.

Prolly wouldn't be the first time.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I own one Apple product (iPod, hardly the mark of the beast). I'm not an Apple Person. But I do think Apple Stores and Crate and Barrels are nice places to look at stuff. I can't afford any of it, but it's nice to look at. And I can't think of the last time I found hair in my food that wasn't mine, my girlfriend's, or our dogs'.

This contention makes me sad.

If someone put hair in a steak because I sent back a previous steak that they didn't cook properly, you can be damn sure I would call the cops if I found out about it. Assholes like that need to be removed from kitchens.

What Greenway Station really needs is an Aldi's.

After which I anticipate that their would be some shitting down the neck of the decapitated corpse.

Dude!

That is so not cool.

1) They were not his pubes.
2) The customer never heard those words.
3) Hair isn't poisonous. Although grody, to be sure, it's generally harmless.

Enough said is right.

I was trying to make a point about the malice involved. But that doesn't matter does it? You win.

Sure it does -- I'm not defending the cook, I was attempting to make the point that both of these men overreacted to a pretty harmless situation with malice. Frankly, they probably deserve each other.

Ick.

What have we learned these days?
Don't mock high school introverts and don't piss off the kitchen.

As for Greenway Station, it's a ridiculously long and winding road by bus to even get there on the weekend. And I'm buddhadamned if the Middleton Transer Station is not only not a station but no one transfers there!
It's a turnaround point at the end of an abandoned road in the middleton of nowhere!
Why not relocate it to Greenway Station?
Half the job is done for you just from the name!

As for restaurant closure:
I told you it wasn't going to last.
It's simply impossible to keep the macaroni from falling through the grill.

I'm new here, and likely beating a dead horse, BUT I do have to put in my two cents on this one... it's one thing to find a hair on top of your food - that happens, and yes it's gross - but this guy cut a hole in the steak, stuffed what he said were pubes into it, and then turned it over so the customer wouldn't see it. That's a little different.

The icing on the cake (and oh, how I sincerely wish it were icing) is that when the cook talked to the police, he changed his story and said that it was facial hair. Now, maybe it's just me, but he must've had some kind of long facial hair to pull out and stuff in a steak. It's hard to pull out facial hair. I think they were pubes, and he just changed his story when the cops arrived...

Gack! This is probably the only Sunday morning in my life that I'm actually glad that I haven't had breakfast yet.

I'm pretty sure that would probably violate some sort of health code.

*I'm not even going to think about unwatched office coffee pots.*
