State Street restauant for lunch

Postby chav0038 » Fri Oct 12, 2007 10:37 am

I'm trying to figure out where to take my relatives for lunch...they've never been to Madison. It needs to be a place big enough for a group of 6-8 people.

Ages 30-55. Anywhere in the downtown area is fine, but I figured we will be walking around State St. I also love Med Cafe, but I couldn't remember if it has tables to accomodate a group.

no, not really for 8 people-booths for 4.

I'd do Old Fashioned or Cafe Marigold-but not smack dab during lunch hour rush.
Or the African restaurant.

Paco's recommendation's are good. Nick's is a good one as well. Chautara might have room for you upstairs.

Where are they from? and what do they expect of State street? If they are comming come with alot of preset judgments about "Wierdos on state street" then I'd stick with American like Nick's, BWW3, State street Brats-I'd also say stay indoors no matter how nice the weather if you need to play it safe-there's nothing like a scary and bellicose, psycopath to confirm everyone's worst fears about the "mad" in Madison...

Orpheum, or Plaza.
