middle eastern market? pomegranite molasses, anyone?

Postby MamaH » Mon Sep 10, 2007 2:10 pm

Does anyone know a good middle eastern market in town? ARE there any M.E. markets at all? OR, alternately, has anyone bought, seen or used pomegranite molasses? I need it for a recipe for wednesday night and I'm not sure where to get it!

Thanks! :)

Ooh, that's a tough one, and now I'm interested too.

MAYBE you could try the Maharaja market on Thierer on the east side. You could always ask at People's Bakery or King of Falafel; they might be able to lead you in a good direction.

If you find it, here's an interesting recipe.

Try Yue Wah 2328 S Park St in the Villager Mall. They have tons of food from Asia, Africa etc.

In a similar fashion, I've been looking for pureed passionfruit lately. I checked Yue Wah to no avail. Any other places I might check? I might have to stoop low and check woodman's.

Why not throw it in a food processor or blender and puree it yourself, she wonders...?

Pomegranate molasses at Midway Foods at the Triangle of Park St. & W. Wash. It's in the corner by the baked goods, near the office, along with rose water and other middle eastern foods.
