Boston Market (Chicken) closes

Postby porc de vol » Sun Sep 02, 2007 8:59 pm

I see that the Boston Market rotisserie chicken restaurant on Mineral Point Road in Madison is now closed. I'm not sure when this happened, but a sign in the window confirms it. I always thought they had great chicken, certainly a much better alternative to KFC, Popeyes, etc. I'll also miss the sweet potato casserole!

Even if they did have a better product than KFC or Popeye's, their location was kind of set back from the street and I don't ever recall seeing much, if any adverstising for Boston Market. They probably dished out a lot in franchising fees with not much in return for regional promotions and advertising from corporate.

Boston Market: Where we emphasize take-out orders and thereby eliminate soda and dessert purchases (the menu items we can truly profit in selling)

And that's pretty old school to still feel a need to refer to it by "Boston Chicken."

it's been closed for well over a year.

that whole chain downsized considerably over the last five years.

the location has been fine for noodles and co. and einstein (blecch) bagels.
