OK. I'm not putting this thread in restaurant reviews because it is a microbrewery. I'm talking about Madison's own Ale Asylum. They have had really great sammiches, from artisanal local places, Carr Valley Cheeses is the one that comes to mind but it holds true for all the ingredients.
Here is my ideal sammy: Provolene cheese, roast beef, lettuce, mater, horsey sauce,and banana peppers on marble rye with a pickle and sea salt vinegar chips. Sound good? There are several other variations, plus they have good soups (not tried myself yet but I trust 'em and they're on the verge of some good pizza I hear.)
So, that, and the convenient East side location, plus some serious beers....you might want to check it out if you haven't already. I have yet to have heard from anyone who DIDN'T like it. Just have to say again...I'm a beer lover, but I love the Sammies!!!!
Grocery stores, recipes, cook books, CSAs, farmers' markets, organic, local, processed, corporate. It's a smorgabord!
