O'Hern vs. a speeding Silver Bullet Band

Postby TheBookPolice » Fri Jul 16, 2010 3:06 pm

From this week's Making the Paper:

Vince O'Hern wrote:One of the traits that distinguish humans from other primates is our ability to create and enjoy classical music. (Rock 'n' roll, not so much.)

As a friend wondered on Twitter, I thus wonder here: is this statement moronically offensive, or merely offensively moronic?

I liked Vince when he was bartending at the Dangle. Excellent bartender. I'll cut him some slack just on that basis. Maybe he had to listen to "Whole Lotta Love" one too many times while watching some pretty young thing get undressed.

I didn't know that was possible.

There was a strip club called The Dangle? And you say girls stripped there? Gotta say that's not the picture I'm trying to get out of my head.

I wonder if he knew Josephine Musser (née Fine), Tammy Baldwin's former GOP opponent, who used to serve drinks at the Dangle back in the day.

This doesn't pass the smell test. I'm going to assume the editors of Isthmus forced you to apologize.

Ah, the alley-oop. Thank you, Joe. And for the record, it wa entirely of my own volition. Note that I'm not taking back my critique, nor removing the original post.
