And then you criticize the Supreme Court for permitting other voices to speak when newspapers won't print their side. Put down the brew, get out of that green union terrace chair and spend some time in the First Amendment classroom, son.

Did the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Times fold?

Try to shrug it off, lefties, but Blaska makes an excellent point.

A liberal outlet like Isthmus would never in a million years publish a conservative like Blaska or, say, Vicki McKenna - online or in print.

That's because McKenna couldn't think her way out of a wet paper bag.

When you're right, you're right. Thanks to Isthmus, we never have to hear a peep out of Blaska!

Does anyone else think Tiggs is really Sheppy? I mean such a well crafted douchebag can't be real right? Plus Tiggs mentioned something about some Christian rock band the only one anyone would ever know if they weren't active in the "scene". It was just so generic. That was when it hit me. Am I totally offbase here? I do have to give props to Sheppy even if he's not behind the newest birther in our midst. I wouldn't put it past him. If Shep decided to go birther on us what would it look like? Answer. Tiggs.

If you can't defeat vacuous, dumbshit arguments with your intellect and wit, then quit your whining, be creative, and come up with a way. Boo fucking hoo. If you are in favor of banning and enjoy an echo chamber, then you are a great big fucking pussy and you are wrong. Period. If the dumbshit persists, then scroll past their dumbshitedness. It isn't that hard.

Free speech is paramount.

Seriously? Dooshbag, this isn't about free speech. This is about someone who trolls around trying to pick fights without the intent of debating or "free speech." Step out of 1950 with your no droopy pants shit and actually understand what people are talking about. If you're gonna write about our current culture at least know what the hell you're talking about.

This sentence doesn't make sense. Agreed, trolls try to pick fights without the intent of debating. But they don't pick fights without the intent of "free speech". They do so because of it. We should have the skills to deal with it without resorting to banning people...That is if we think we are as smart as we think we are.

Thought about it. He has developed a "y'all" twitch that seems even more put-on than the "liberal/progressive" thing.

Free speech doesn't include yelling "fire" in a crowded room. That's what I consider this to be. Yea, you can say anything you want and we can let it go on here, but then it would be a clusterfuck. Do you really want a 4chan thing going on here. Should I be able to start threads talking about goat fucking or something. Blaska was being a blowhard. That's why I commented about it. Don't get all righteous on me.

I've been around the internet a long time, and unmoderated forums -- those where nobody gets banned or control is decentralized -- eventually fall apart. The signal to noise ratio gets so far out of whack it's not worth the trouble wading through the crap, and the interesting posters all move on.

One or two determined garbage-spewers easily overwhelm several dozen reasonable people trying to stick to a topic. It has nothing to do with post quality -- it's all about quantity.

I can't figure out if Tigg is Sheppy because I never read Sheppy and I quit reading Tigg, so I can't help ya there. For a while I was trying to tell if all four or five of our newest spammers were one person or several, but I quit thinking about it because they all say the same thing anyway.

Very well stated. It's about substantive debates, not crap.

This sounds to me like you logged in under the wrong sock puppet account.

Free speech is paramount.

You're a fucking moron if you think banning from an Internet forum is a violation of one's right to free speech. Wait ... scratch that ... you're a fucking moron regardless.

Now if y'all will humor me, I'd like to exercise my 1st Amendment right to tell that worthless piece of shit Blaska to take his ugly-ass porn mustache and go fuck himself.
