Flickr pool: living the dream

Postby thebookpolice » Tue Jul 24, 2007 1:50 pm

Is there anything better than this Flickr photo group, occasionally popping up today in the pool preview?

I mean, really:

Flickr user Central Historian wrote:I asked some of the girls if it would be all right to take some photographs, and they said it was fine – then went back to work. They were too busy to pose because they were washing not only cars, but trucks and huge SUVs. That was fine with me, because I wanted to take candid photos. The only posed photo in the set is of the two girls in charge of the bake sale.

Nadine Goff is both a demonstration of the naivete and double-standard of the general public regarding appropriate behavior around nubile youngsters, and also my personal hero.

But come on; if I pulled this particular stunt (no aspersions against Ms. Goff, but it smacks of "sweeps week" news segments), I'd be answering questions in the back of a cruiser.

Middleton is #1, you know, and its future looks bright and shiny (referring to the cars) as well as sweet and moist (referring to the baked goods).

Maybe I can use these for a trade with Kodie.

Or, more likely, in the "box" downtown with one hand cuffed to the table.

And if I've learned anything from watching various Laws and Orders, they'd let you stew in there for a while thinking about why they might have you down there.

Delicious looking cookies. [hey, at least it had nothing to do with bumpers or headlights]

Seriously though, they really should put up a big tarp or wall or something between this *activity* and the passing traffic. That's just an accident waiting to happen.

Happened across Central Historian's photo library again recently, and this little bit of Americana was gone! Looks like modesty prevailed.

Or the restraining order.

Just kidding.

Or am I?

Yeah.

But really...
