So everyone should refrain from using words you haven't heard of before?

Maybe you could post all the words you don't know so that we can refrain from using them.

Damn - I give good snark...

Allow me to serve you a little dish of my own snark:

I got a couple words you could clarify for me: "Eat Me" (Yeah, Violet, Some of that's for you!)

It's officially "Fuck You Tuesday".

I'm beginning to understand the reason you're lonesome, Johnny... LOL! :D heh. snark snark.

Loathsome TDPF mannerisms...

Once in a while, there's nothing more fun to read than a thread that's completely disintegrated into dust, i.e. the fat bashing one. HA!

But only once in a while. The forum has a couple too many class clowns.

Using the phrase "nanny-state."

Even if it's true.

- The phrase "and their ilk"

- Vague, unsupportable anecdotes as "refutation"

- Ignoring requests for specifics, yet continuing to post

What's the matter with "and their ilk?" I kinda like "ilk." It's right up there with "pelf."

What about "whilst"? There's no excuse for that one.

Same goes for "me thinks".

On the other hand - I'd love it if, just one time, someone said, "Aroint thee, knave!"

I would accept 'zounds!' as well.

"Ilk" is perfectly acceptable, and I'll defend "whilst" as well, but then we English majors tend to harbor a soft spot for the archaic.

I've been guilty of "methinks" too, but only when quoting The Bard, which, I think, is fair game.

Is that geek talk for "I've suffered a few wedgies in my day"?
