Battle of the Brews WI vs. MI tonight!

Postby Athena » Thu Dec 06, 2012 11:47 am

I haven't seen much advertisement for this so I thought I'd repost this from their facebook page (

We are bringing together five of the best breweries from Wisconsin and Michigan and doing a tap takeover at five bars around the Capitol in Madison!

The Line-up is as follows:

Jolly Pumpkin/New Glarus

Dark Horse/Ale Asylum

Tipsy Cow
New Holland/Central Waters

We'll be doing special timed tappings at each location so stay tuned for the beer lineup. Needless to say, we think this is going to be awesome!

The timed tappings (list posted last night, they should post specifics sometime today):

Time Tappings Breakdown and Linueps

The non-special beers will be on tap during the entire event.

Madison's - New Glarus/Jolly Pumpkin - Special Tapping between 5-6pm
Maduro - Bells/Furthermore - Special Tapping between 6-7pm
Tipsy Cow - New Holland/Central Waters - Special Tapping between 7-8pm
Merchant - Founders/Hinterland -Special Tapping at 9pm
Argus - Special Tapping at 930-10pm

It sounds like fun! I hope all the brewers brought something interesting. Unfortunately, I'm likely to lean Michigan just because I have less opportunities to get it normally.

Update - Here's the exact times (although no other information):
Alright everybody, here are the times for the tappings today.

Madison's 6pm
Maduro 7pm
Tipsy Cow 8pm
Merchant 9pm
Argus 10pm

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight!

I wish I would have been around for this last night. I was lucky enough to remember Craftsman had a Founders tap takeover last week. Their Backwoods Bastard tasted exceptional after a long day traveling for work.
