Boutique Bowling Anyone??

Postby bassbari » Fri Oct 16, 2009 11:06 am

The city's Alcohol License Review Committee on Wednesday will take up a proposal for a club with boutique bowling to replace the Madison Avenue nightclub at 624 University Ave. with a Brazilian-inspired entertainment center called Segredo Madison.

I suppose it's better than the last three venues that have been in that space.
This is what the concept looks like. http://www.bowlluckystrike.com/
Looks real "Swank" with dress codes and restrictions. Just like before.

I like the idea. There aren't any lanes downtown are there? Bowling and Karaoke on the same block. Party!

That address has been problematic as a bar/nightclub for easily over a decade. Changing the theme away from strictly drinking can't hurt. I think it's a good idea.

Fuck it, Dude. Let's go bowling.

I am the only one who remembers the bowling lanes right above the Plaza? It sounded like thunder. Those new to the Plaza were shocked when they heard it, especially on a clear summer day.

And it certainly wasn't boutique.

My college-aged sister took me and a friend to the Plaza Bowling alley back in the early 70s. As I remember, the lanes were a bit warped by then.
