RIP Keith Emmerson

Postby PaleoLiberal » Sat Mar 12, 2016 11:00 am

I got to see ELP in early 1978, part of their last tour before they split up. Fantastic show. They were their own backup band. They had an intermission and played a second set.

Emmerson founded the Nice back in the 1960s, and pretty much invented the Prog Rock genre. I was a big Prog Rock fan back in the day. ELP may not have been the best, but they put on the best show, and Emmerson was the first.

I hope you're not in the tombstone business.

I can't believe I missed it.

I was listening to some ELP on YouTube. I completely missed that Greg Lake died of cancer about 5 weeks ago. Very sad. Saw the comments.

Long live Carl Palmer!
