I think that Metal Machine Music is probably what put Reed over the top with voters.

That is right, and, I hate some weak-ass blues terribleness.

Says the guy who used to play cartoon music.

That's terrible... or at least terribly ironic.

I'm thinking it was his more recent collaborative brilliance.

Depends on the cartoon music. Carl Stalling was a genius.

Cartoon music was my introduction to classical music. I just didn't know it at the time.

Henry, you have now failed at both music appreciation AND irony comprehension.

A lot more musical knowledge and effort went into composing that cartoon music than shitting out yet another 12-bar snooze-a-thon.

Supposedly BB King is a big fan of this number:

I think that anyone who thinks Mike Bloomfield was a talentless hack must be a talentless hack themselves;) But hey, that's just what I think...speaking of which, I think that the RRHOF is pretty much bullshit and a total political beast, given who has been inducted and who has been left out. But i must admit, touring their museum is a lot of fun no matter what kind of music you dig. And it's even better if you get a free pass instead of paying them for the chance to see the stuff you already lived through.

After Dylan went electric, Bloomfield played on Highway 61 Revisited. Maybe some think that is terrible too.

It is.

I honestly think a lot of the Butterfield Band being inducted was due to some members playing on Dylan's "bold decision" (aka slick marketing move) to go electric.

Well, they would need a time machine for that. So, probably not an issue.

All of you hating on "East/West" are going to again get it at top volume next time you are over at my house. Fair warning.

Also, Ricky Nelson is more entertaining than solo Lou Reed.
