WTF Snoop?

Postby jman111 » Wed Feb 02, 2011 9:44 am

C'mon, Snoop. You can do better. You kept the crowd waiting until 10:45, then left the stage after (according to my watch) 51 minutes. And after all those people showed up in THAT weather? You said you'd come back anytime you're asked. Well, don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price for my ticket.

Yeah, I heard the same thing from my friends that went last night. They offered an extra ticket to me but I decided to stay in Middleton with a bottle of Eagle Rare. Judging by the texts that I received just after midnight it was the right decision.

Somebody on the ride to work said she was going to Snoop. Somebody else said he'd seen him a few times, and that it was usually "great, but short." Guess short is his MO.

Is that a hip-hop thing? I seem to remember hearing when Lil' Wayne played the Orpheum he went on ridiculously late as well.

DMX pulled the same move at the Orpheum. Showed up late, spent little time performing. Upon arrival at the venue, he complained that he didn't want to get out of the limo and walk to the stage door entrance because "It's cold outside."

Around here, keeping it real means going outside in the winter, G.

Did you guys think Snoop was going to go on at the 8pm showtime? From my past experiences at concerts there are usually supporting acts. Although I agree there was some time between sets, just try to enjoy yourself.

Of course I didn't expect him to take the stage at 8:00. But, given the ridiculous delay, I was seriously beginning to doubt that he would perform at all. "Some time between sets" is stating it lightly. Aside from the DJ, who didn't seem too excited to be there, there was only one "supporting act"- and he only lasted about 10 minutes (although I didn't check my watch with him). A few more performers could have passed the time better than just playing music and a couple of videos over the hours we were kept waiting. A missed opportunity to showcase some local talent.

And the delay would have been easily overlooked had he performed for more than 51 minutes.

Cube at The Rave was much better than Snoop's lackluster performance.

Plus I got some decent HD footage despite the crowd bouncing all around me.

The old man's still got it despite his sellout factor.
