Somber "Fat Man" Anniversary Episode on B&B

Postby Stu Levitan » Sun Aug 08, 2010 6:53 am

It was on Aug. 9, 1945 that the United States dropped "Fat Man," the second atomic bomb, on a city on Japan's southernmost island. Susan Southard joins us to discuss her forthcoming book, Nagasaki, the first in-depth Western examination of the bomb-damaged survivors, the hibakusha.
It was on Aug. 9, 1995 that Jerome John Garcia died. From the archives -- a 1975 interview with my favorite guitarist, to commemorate when "the Fat Man" stopped rocking. (Apologies to the original musical Fat Man, Antoine Domino).
