Has the Voxmobile ever been posted? I don't have time to look. Anyways here's a site dedicated to it.

OK, I'm totally bragging. Just took delivery of what is now the crown jewel of my poor man's bass collection: 1977 Ibanez Black Eagle

Mine's exactly as you see here (case & all):
Image
Mahogany body w/ horns on the bouts, maple neck w/ tribal inlays, f-hole cut in headstock (these are often broken), and the distinctive eagle pickguard.

Got it through eBay from a nice young fellow in San Fran. He listed it simply as "Ibanez Bass" with a lo-res pic. Long story short is that I bought this bass for way less than I've seen them sell for. I owe my friends in Daly City a solid for arranging delivery. The condition is amazing considering it's age. Truly a "closet classic".

That's a beauty supa. Will it be played on stage? Say yes...

Oh, fer sure!
It plays really well and the intonation seems spot-on. The only weird thing is that the bout "horns" get in the way of playing stuff up high on the neck. Thankfully, high notes are rarely in my playing vocabulary.

Gibson is currently the most laughable guitar manufacturer in the world.

This is a bit pricey but C.L.F. makes it worth it to me:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet the factory didn't cut and corners.

Here's the reason why: "50 piece production run"

Yeah, I'm sorry, but for that price you can get a handmade bass to your specifications from a number of luthiers. Five-string models, even. :)

Sorry Michael, that link requires a login. I love the included album in the case, though.
