Opera in the Park July 26

Postby Shorty » Thu Jul 24, 2014 9:02 pm

It's that time again, Opera in the Park is July 26. I've never gone and that will probably not change this year. But it's nice to know there is some free high-brow entertainment.

We usually go, but have a conflict this year. Sit in the park, have a couple drinks, listen to some music. A nice event.

I'm not an opera fan, so I usually stay home with younger daughter while my wife and older daughter walk over to Garner.

Opera in the Park is not real opera. There are no sets and no story, but it's still fun. It provides a small sample of the music from several operas presented in concert. Also, there are broadway tunes thrown in. It's a great event, presented in a non-stuffy way. I'd recommend trying it out. Bring your own chair or blanket, food, wine, and bug spray. We go often, but not sure about this year, as we have conflicting events to juggle. It usually goes from 8-11pm with an intermission. Best thing---it's FREE!!!
